I'm a current classroom teacher offering individual support for students in grades 5 through 8, both online and in-person. I provide tutoring across core middle-school subjects, including mathematics, English and language arts, science, and academic skill- building. Each family begins with a complimentary stratgy consultation, after which I will provide a detailed goal plan for each session. I prepare a rubric for each session with your student's unique goal plan in mind, to provide families with key feedback on their student's successes and challenges.
My name is Joseph Watt. I grew up here in the Metroplex, and attended Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving, TX. I later graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my degree in chemistry (BSA), as well as a certificate in Core Texts and Ideas through the Jefferson Scholars Program. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, I've returned home and am currently a fifth-grade homeroom teacher in Irving.
You are the guardian of a student, in grades 5-8, who stands to benefit from added instruction throughout the summer or during the school year. Your student's level of achievement may vary from below-grade-level (remedial) to above-grade-level (accelerated). You take an active role in your child's academic development, and would benefit from detailed and specific insights into their learning process.
